Replacing People with Robots!
Current Research for the MLA PF Debate Topic…
TOPIC(S):
It is unfair to replace people with robots.
IMPORTANT: We have a fun and friendly contest about the use of \’robots\’ taking place on Monday, November 12, 2018, from 10:00 am to 1:30 pm. All we need to do to prepare is write an INTRODUCTION and ARGUMENT for each side. We also need to be prepared to answer just a few questions from the other team. Please register for this — it is a fun activity for the holiday and it includes pizza and prizes (for everyone who competes). We need volunteer judges as well, who will be given free pizza and drinks. 🙂
BACKGROUND:
Robots can do jobs that are dangerous and disgusting for humans to do. This is great! However, robots can also do simple and sometimes even complex jobs that humans don\’t mind doing. So… could you lose your future job to a robot? Will robot workers create even more jobs (or fewer jobs) for humans to do? Paying workers is one of the most expensive parts of any company. So, robots could save companies a lot of money. Amazon is among the best examples of a company replacing workers with robotic machines. Is this the future we can expect to see in our lifetime. Is it fair? Let\’s debate to find out!
